청와대 "김현종, 16~20일 미국 방문..한미동맹지지 재확인"<br /><br />South Korea's presidential office has revealed that deputy security advisor Kim Hyun-chong made a visit to the U.S. earlier this month... to discuss pending bilateral issues and regional affairs.<br />It said Sunday... that Kim was there from September 16th to the 20th to meet with officials from the White House, the State Department and think tanks.<br />Seoul and Washington, it said, reaffirmed their bilateral alliance ahead of the U.S. presidential elections in November and exchanged views on North Korea issues.<br />It did not reveal details of what exactly was discussed.<br />But also noteworthy is that the visit took place just days before President Moon Jae-in's UN address in which, he called for a declaration to end the Korean War.<br />
