미 공화 "내달 12일 청문회" 대법관 인준 속도전…민주 반발<br /><br />The U.S. Senate is planning a swift approval of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court,... after President Donald Trump nominated her as his pick to replace the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Saturday.<br />For more on this and other news around the world, let's turn to our Kim Jae-hee.<br />Jae-hee, fill us in on the latest.<br />Mok-yeon, the Republican-controlled Senate plans to swiftly complete the confirmation process of conservative Barrett.<br />Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman, Lindsey Graham said on Saturday evening that the committee would hold a hearing for opening statements on October 12th, which would be followed by three to four days of questions and testimony.<br />He added he hopes to finish the hearing process and approve Barrett's nomination to the Supreme Court by the week of October 26th.<br />Democrats are highly opposed to a hasty decision.<br />House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden are insisting Trump is in a hurry to confirm the Supreme Court nominee in order to overturn the 2010 health care law passed by former President Barack Obama.<br />
