Once A Pot Paradise, College Town Decriminalizes Shrooms

Once known as the pot capital of America, the city of Ann Arbor, Michigan, has decriminalized psychedelic plants and fungi, including magic mushrooms.<br />According to HuffPost, Ann Arbor police officers will no longer make dealing with 'ethnogenic plants' an enforcement focus.<br />Such plants can benefit psychological and physical wellness, and support and enhance religious and spiritual practices.<br />The Ann Arbor City Council says in addition to such benefits, ethnogenic plants 'can reestablish human’s inalienable and direct relationship to nature.”<br />The move applies to ayahuasca, ibogaine, mescaline, peyote, and psilocybin mushrooms.<br />Such plants have hallucinogenic properties considered illegal under state and federal law.
