이도훈 방미후 "종전선언 더좋은 토대 만들어졌다 생각"<br /><br />Seoul and Washington formed a "better foundation" for the declaration of an official end to the Korean War.<br />That's coming from the nation's top nuclear envoy who is returning from his trip to the States.<br />Lee Do-hoon told reporters, very broad and meaningful discussions were held with his American counterpart, and a better foundation can be formed ... based on reaching a mutual understanding of the need to declare a formal end to the Korean War.<br />According to Stephen Biegun, the two sides had "excellent" discussions on what he called "constructive ways" and "creative ideas" to advance diplomacy on the Peninsula.<br />Lee's trip to the U.S. came shortly after President Moon Jae-in urged international efforts to declare an end to the Korean War.<br />He believes the move would provide a security guarantee to the regime and prompt it to give up nukes.<br />
