Van Halen lead guitarist Eddie Van Halen has died. He was 65 years old.<br />CNN reports Eddie, whose full name was Edward Lodewijk Van Halen, died on Tuesday morning.<br />Wolf Van Halen is the son of Eddie Van Halen and Valerie Bertinelli. He tweeted that his father died 'after a long and arduous battle with cancer.'<br />When Eddie and his brother, Alex Van Halen, met David Lee Roth, they formed the core of what to become their iconic rock band Van Halen.<br />CNN reports that over four decades, Van Halen released more than a dozen albums together.<br />Gene Simmons of KISS tweeted, 'Eddie was not only a Guitar God, but a genuinely beautiful soul.'
