Nearly 700,000 vulnerable young children attending early childhood development centres in some of the poorest areas around the country are going hungry. SA Childcare says the Minister of Social Development Lindiwe Zulu is withholding subsidies. The association says some centres have not received a grant since January this year and wants the minister and provincial MEC to account.
