Adults with severe COVID-19 risk developing dangerous levels of inflammation in several key organs.<br />According to UPI, the inflammation can occur simultaneously in the brain, heart, lungs, and kidneys.<br />The condition is known as multi-system inflammatory syndrome.<br />More than 400 American children with COVID-19 have also been found to have the condition.<br />Researchers note that further research is needed to understand the development and long-term effects of this condition.<br />According to experts, multi-system inflammatory syndrome reinforces the need for prevention efforts to limit the spread of COVID-19.
