WTO "미국의 보잉 지원은 위반"…EU에 보복관세 승인<br /><br />The World Trade Organization arbitrators on Tuesday ruled that the European Union has the right to impose tariffs on some 4 billion U.S. dollars' worth of U.S. goods, in retaliation against U.S. subsidies for Boeing.<br />With Tuesday's ruling, the EU can now impose tariffs on a wide range of American products and the preliminary list the bloc released includes tobacco, rum and vodka, handbags, and tractors.<br />But watchers fear the WTO's decision may only deepen the trade spat between the U.S. and the EU.<br />The two have been locked in a 16-year legal battle over subsidies paid to Boeing and Airbus.<br />The WTO had ruled last year that the U.S. can impose tariffs on some 7-point-5 billion dollars of European goods, over EU subsidies for Airbus.<br />After the ruling, Washington slapped duties on European imports such as French cheese and Scotch whisky.<br />
