Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah on Thursday said the D614G mutation of Covid-19 could have been spread to Peninsular Malaysia through returnees from Sabah over the past few weeks.<br /><br />He said the Institute for Medical Research had detected the mutation in samples taken from the Benteng LD cluster in Sabah, which might have come from the Philippines and Indonesia.<br /><br />“The D614G mutation is different from the mutation detected in Kedah, from those who tested positive in the Sivagangga, Tawar and Sungai clusters.
