Paul, for only the fourth time in history, a South Korean player is set to appear in the MLB World Series.<br />Yes, that's right. Tampa Bay Rays and South Korean first baseman Choi Ji-man are heading to the World Series.<br />Tampa Bay overcame the Houston Astros 4-3 overall after a 4-2 victory in game seven on Saturday local time. During which, Choi went two-for-three with a walk and scored a late insurance run. Choi is now poised to become the first South Korean batter to play in the World Series. And only the fourth in history.<br />It wasn't easy for the Rays but they held on. And, in doing so, Choi Ji-man seems to have endeared himself even further with Tampa Bay fans. Lots of parodies are circulating online of him doing the splits, something of a trademark for him...<br />Yes, indeed. Perhaps we will see more of that in the World Series. But, as you say, it wasn't straight forward.<br />The Rays won the first three games of the American League Championship Series... but the Astros stormed back by winning the next three.<br />Houston was trying to become only the second team in major league history to come back from a three-zero series deficit to win a best-of-seven postseason round before the Rays' 4-2 win on Saturday.<br />In the five matches in which he featured, Choi batted five-for-13 with one home run, scored three runs with four walks.<br />The Rays will take on LA Dodgers in the first game of the World Series on Tuesday 20th October.<br />Meanwhile, in the Premier League, Son Heung-min seemed to pick up where he left off before the international break?<br />Yes. Tottenham Hotspur drew 3-3 at home to West Ham United on Sunday with Son Heung-min involved in all three Spurs goals.<br />Son opened the scoring inside the first minute before teeing up Harry Kane on seven minutes to make it 2-0. Then on 14 minutes, Son played the ball out wide to Sergio (Reg-you-lawn)Reguilon who crossed for Harry Kane to head home.<br />But a late fightback from West Ham ensured that the spoils were shared as Tottenham conceded three in the last six minutes.<br />With five matches played Son is the league's joint-top scorer with seven. Spurs, meanwhile sit in sixth place on eight points.<br />Over to football here in South Korea, another eventful weekend in K League - the title race looks set to go right down to the wire once again.<br />Yes, the title race is as close as can be now with just goals scored separating the top two.<br />That is because nine-man Ulsan Hyundai lost 4-0 to rivals Pohang Steelers in the East Coast Derby on Sunday. With Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors beating Gwangju 4-1 earlier in the day, the pressure was on Ulsan to pick up a result.<br />But red cards to Dutch defender Dave Bulthuis and Norwegian forward Bjorn Johnsen contributed to a second-half collapse.<br />A brace each from Stanislav Iljutcenko and Aleksandar Palocevic earned Pohang the win.
