Paul, for only the fourth time in history, a South Korean player is set to appear in the MLB World Series.
Yes, that's right. Tampa Bay Rays and South Korean first baseman Choi Ji-man are heading to the World Series.
Tampa Bay overcame the Houston Astros 4-3 overall after a 4-2 victory in game seven on Saturday local time. During which, Choi went two-for-three with a walk and scored a late insurance run. Choi is now poised to become the first South Korean batter to play in the World Series. With Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors beating Gwangju 4-1 earlier in the day, the pressure was on Ulsan to pick up a result.
But red cards to Dutch defender Dave Bulthuis and Norwegian forward Bjorn Johnsen contributed to a second-half collapse.
A brace each from Stanislav Iljutcenko and Aleksandar Palocevic earned Pohang the win.
