France-Turkey row spreads into Europe-Muslim tensions over controversial cartoons of Prophet Mohammad

교사참수 테러 후폭풍…유럽-이슬람권 '문명충돌' 우려<br /><br />The France-Turkey row has escalated with protests spreading across the Muslim world.<br />At the center of the tensions is French president Emmanuel Macron who has declared a tougher stance on radical Islam.<br />For more on this and other news around the world, we turn to our Lee Kyung-eun.<br />Kyung-eun,what's the latest?<br />Mok-yeon, anti-France sentiment is spreading in a number of Muslim-majority countries.<br />In Pakistan, Iran, and Bangladesh, protesters took to the streets, burning photos and effigies of French president Emmanuel Macron and chanting slogans.<br />They are also calling for a boycott of French goods.<br />"The things we are importing from France right now need to be embargoed. We can't use the products of people who are insulting us."<br />Sparking their anger was Macron's recent defense of cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad which they consider blasphemous.<br />He also declared war against radical Muslim "separatism" after a teacher was killed by an Islamist for showing the cartoons.<br />The growing tensions first began with the Turkish president who criticized Macron and other European leaders for supporting an anti-Islam agenda.<br />
