Gilgit has a large area of uncultivated land that is now being put to use by the government. WWF has initiated a program where 100 acres of land is now being cultivated in the area of Rahimabad Valley. Syed Tajdar Hussain from WWF explained that a solar water-lifting pump has been installed to make irrigation easier higher up the terrain.
