미대선 아직 승자 예측 불가... 바이든 더 가까워

Although it's been a couple days since the polls closed for the U.S. Presidential Election 2020, no winner has been called just yet.
With the votes still being counted and the race still very close in a few states, Americans are left waiting to find out who will lead the country for the next four years.
While Joe Biden is ahead in the Electoral College, President Trump still has a chance of winning.
Kim Do-yeon explains.
The counting of ballots continues in the U.S... and it's down to five states to decide who will occupy the White House starting January 20th, 2021.
Democratic nominee, Joe Biden, appears to be in the lead with 2-hundred-53 electoral votes, while President Trump has 2-hundred-13.
But CNN and other news outlets are yet to project a winner in six different states that collectively account for 72 electoral votes.
It has been two days since the polls closed and the race is still too close for anyone to make a projection.
Currently, Nevada and Arizona have Biden in the lead, while Trump is leading in North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Alaska.
In Georgia, Biden has just taken the lead by around a thousand votes.
Amid the prolonged counting period, both candidates have broken their silence.
"I've already decisively won many critical states, including massive victories in Florida, Iowa, Indiana, Ohio, to name just a few. We won these and many other victories despite historic election interference from big media, big money and big tech."
"We have no doubt that when the count is finished, Senator Harris and I will be declared the winners. So, I ask everyone to stay calm, all the people to stay calm. The process is working."
The delayed announcement of results is due to the high number of mail-in ballots, and the extra procedures that required when counting the votes... such as matching signatures.
And some states still have a few days to finish up counting.
For example, in North Carolina, as long as the ballots are postmarked before November 3rd, state election officials have until November 12th to count them.
Similarly, Nevada has until November 10th.
In addition, with the gap narrowing in Pennsylvania, if there is less than half a percentage point difference between the two candidates, there will be a recount.
Kim Do-yeon, Arirang News
