Naomi Osaka Announces <br />Withdrawal From French Open.<br />The prestigious tournament is scheduled<br />to begin on September 27 in Paris, France. .<br />Its traditional spring dates were postponed<br />earlier this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. .<br />In a post to social media, Osaka explained that her decision to<br />withdraw was due to a lingering hamstring injury combined<br />with a lack of preparation time for the clay courts.<br />Unfortunately I won't be able to play the<br />French Open this year … My hamstring is<br />still sore so I won't have enough time<br />to prepare for the clay, <br />Naomi Osaka, via Twitter.<br />She then referenced the U.S. Open, saying<br />the two tournaments “came too close to<br />each other for [her]” this year. .<br />The 22-year-old won the U.S. Open on September 12. It marks<br />her second U.S. Open victory and her third Grand Slam title.<br />Osaka did not confirm when she would<br />be playing next, but instead promised her fans<br />that they would “see [her] sooner than later.”
