바이든, 초대 비서실장에 '에볼라 차르' 30년 참모 클레인 발탁<br /><br />U.S. President-elect Joe Biden has tapped his long-time confidant Ron Klain as his White House chief of staff.<br />While Biden is building his transition team, President Donald Trump made his first public appearance in several days to honor the nation's military heroes on Veterans Day.<br />Kim Sung-min has the details.<br />U.S. President-elect Joe Biden on Wednesday appointed his longtime aide Ron Klain as the White House chief of staff.<br />Klain has been one of the President-elect's closest confidants since he first started working for Biden in 1989,... back when Biden was a U.S. senator.<br />In a statement, Biden said Klain has been invaluable to him for many years,... mentioning their past experiences of dealing with the health emergency in 2014.<br />Klain served as the "Ebola tsar" in the Obama administration and is expected to become a key figure in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.<br />The Biden transition team has also announced its agency review groups on Tuesday.<br />North Korea expert Jung Pak has been named in the 23-member Intelligence Community group.<br />Pak, a former CIA analyst who is now working at the Brookings Institution, has already been providing informal counsel to the Biden camp.<br />While Biden is preparing his transition teams, some of President Trump's closest confidants are reportedly doubting the chances of reversing the election results.<br />According to the Washington Post's sources, even hardliners like chief of staff Mark Meadows and Republican National Committee chair Ronna McDaniel have started to doubt the possibility of winning.<br />Yet, media outlets still say it is unlikely that Trump will ever officially concede the race.<br />Meanwhile, both Trump and Biden on Wednesday paid tribute to American military veterans.<br />In his first public appearance in five days, President Trump visited Arlington National Cemetery.<br />Biden on the other hand laid a wreath at the Korean War Memorial in Philadelphia, which some experts regarded as a positive sign for ties with South Korea.<br />Kim Sung-min, Arirang News<br />
