For many older adults, delirium may be the first sign of infection with Covid-19.<br />Delirium which is a state of confusion or disorientation is seen in 1 in 4 older covid patients.<br />According to UPI, delirium was the "primary" symptom of 16% of patients aged 68-86 who took part in a study.<br />37% of the older patients never developed the "typical" symptoms of infection, like fever and shortness of breath.<br />The study examined 817 seniors who were admitted to emergency rooms for possible COVID-19 infection.<br />Infection was confirmed in all 817 patients, and 28% had delirium when they arrived at the hospital.
