The Gerik parliamentary and Bugaya state by-elections are set to be held simultaneously on Jan 16, says Datuk Abdul Ghani Salleh.<br /><br />The Election Commission (EC) chairman made the announcement on Friday, adding that the nomination day for both by-elections would be on Jan 4, with early voting on Jan 12.<br /><br />Abdul Ghani added that both by-elections would be guided by the Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP) that were applied at the Sabah 12th state election, with several improvements.<br /><br />The by-elections were triggered following the deaths of Gerik MP Datuk Hasbullah Osman on Nov 16 and Bugaya assemblyman Manis Muka Mohd Darah on Nov 17.<br /><br />Read more at https://bit.ly/2JeASWL<br /><br />WATCH MORE: https://thestartv.com/c/news<br />SUBSCRIBE: https://cutt.ly/TheStar<br />LIKE: https://fb.com/TheStarOnline
