가금농장서 2년8개월만에 고병원성 AI 확진…위기경보 '심각'<br /><br />South Korea has confirmed this year's first case of highly pathogenic avian influenza among domestic poultry at a duck farm.<br />The agriculture ministry said on Saturday that the virus detected at a duck farm in Jeongeup, North Jeollabuk-do Province, has been confirmed as the highly pathogenic bird flu of the H5N8 strain.<br />This is the first case reported among domestic poultry, while all other cases confirmed so far involved wild birds.<br />As well as taking preemptive measures from access control to preventive culling, the ministry has issued a lockdown order for all poultry farms and livestock facilities across the country.<br />
