BBC, 중국 언론발 '김치 국제표준' 논란 조명<br /><br />The BBC has reported as false... China's claim that it's won global certification for the process it uses to make the staple Korean dish kimchi.<br />China was in fact given certification last week by the ISO for the production of Pao chai,... a type of Chinese fermented vegetable.<br />The BBC highlighted in an article on Monday that the ISO certification states explicitly that it does not apply to kimchi.<br />South Korea's agriculture ministry had already refuted the kimchi claim, noting that international standards for kimchi were agreed by the United Nations in 2001.<br />China's false claim was made first by the Global Times, a mouthpiece for the Chinese government, which called the certification "an international standard for the kimchi industry led by China."<br />
