UK Is First Country to Approve Pfizer's Coronavirus Vaccine.<br />Matt Hancock, Secretary of State for Health of the United Kingdom, shared the news on Twitter.<br />The government said the first batch of 800,000 vaccines will be available next week for healthcare workers, home care employees and people over 80.<br />The remainder of the 40 million doses the U.K. has ordered will arrive at some point next year.<br />According to NBC News, the Pfizer <br />and BioNTech vaccine was authorized <br />quicker than any other in history.<br />It typically takes 15-20 years <br />to develop similar medicines.<br />MHRA Chief Executive Dr. June Raine assured the <br />public that no "corners have been cut" in determining <br />the effectiveness and safety of the vaccine. .<br />In America, Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna <br />are still waiting for FDA approval
