영국, 코로나19 백신 접종 개시…첫 접종자는 90세 할머니<br /><br />A groundbreaking moment in the coronavirus pandemic.<br />A 90-year-old British woman named Margaret Keenan has become the first person in the world to be vaccinated against COVID-19.<br />The first of two doses of the Pfizer and BioNTech vaccine was administered at around 6:30 AM Tuesday, local time.<br />This comes less than a week after the country granted emergency-use approval.<br />After receiving the vaccination, Mrs. Keenan had this to say...<br /><br />"Well, I would say go for it. Go for it because it's free and it's the best thing that has ever happened. If I can do it, so can you."<br /><br />Mrs. Keenan added that she feels privileged to be the first... and will go back for the second dose in about three to four weeks.<br />The UK has ordered 40 million doses of the vaccine, enough for around a third of its population.<br />An order has also been placed with Moderna for an additional seven million doses of its vaccine which could be approved for emergency use within a few weeks.<br />
