Black Joy in Film and Black Cinema: This keynote will focus and touch upon the following:<br /><br />• Black Love & Black Joy. <br />• An opportunity to look at Black life through the lens of love and view our humanity.<br />• The film is a love letter for the black community that we want everyone to read.<br />• Creating our own positive, multi-layered images and narratives that are not centered around Black trauma. <br />• Overcoming the social conditioning that says something bad will happen that prevents us from realizing our dreams.<br />• The film is a way to rewrite our history in a way that’s not always rooted in struggle. It gives people a way of leaving cynicism at the door.
