‘TIME’ Finds That Men Are<br />Less Likely to Socially Distance<br />During the Holidays .<br />A new poll by ‘Time’ and Harris Poll has<br />revealed a shocking number of Americans don’t<br />intend to socially distance this holiday season. .<br />Even though COVID-19 deaths hit a record high<br />of 3,157 in a single day, 44 percent of<br />U.S. adults said they are still planning on<br />going to in-person Christmas celebrations. .<br />30 percent said they plan to celebrate New Year’s<br />outside of their household with friends or family. .<br />The poll found that men in particular are more likely to<br />ignore the CDC’s recommendation to avoid gatherings. .<br />One in three men plan on traveling for<br />Christmas, compared to one in five women. .<br />In terms of meeting with others outside<br />of their households, 50 percent of men said they would<br />for Christmas and 37 percent for New Year’s. .<br />In comparison, 39 percent of women<br />said they were planning to meet with others for<br />Christmas and 23 percent for New Year’s.<br />38 percent of Americans<br />aged 18-34 plan to travel for Christmas.<br />Only 17 percent of those between the<br />ages of 55-64 are planning on traveling. .<br />Travel plans also seem to be split<br />based on political affiliation.<br />52 percent of conservatives say they plan to attend<br />a Christmas celebration outside their household. .<br />Only 36 percent of liberals<br />plan to do the same.
