주말동안 즐길 온라인 공연... 내년 데뷔 20주년 맞는 이루마의 특별한 선물영상

It's Friday and you know what that means,... it's time for our Life With Culture segment to let you know what's on this weekend. Our art and culture correspondent Kim Bo-kyoung is here with us in the studio. Bo-kyoung, I heard you had a chance to interview neo-classical pianist and composer Yiruma?
That's right. I am sure lots of people know his very first solo piano piece 'May Be'. Yiruma has rearranged this song from a single melody to a richer sound with an orchestra and named the new piece 'Maybe Christmas'.
The melody soothes listeners' hearts, as if it is trying to say that one day, the time will come for us to enjoy our daily lives again.
"It's the song 'May be' I wrote that in my early 20s and I titled it May be, May stands for the month May, I basically wanted to stand out the expectation you get when the spring comes. I had this willingness of making it into arrangement of orchestra work. I wanted to explore my music which has been written already and make that into a whole new piece, which was Maybe Christmas."
This recently-released song is also something of a preview for his special album celebrating the 20th anniversary of Yiruma's debut. A new song will be released every month until March when the full album will be ready.
I can't wait to hear the full song the orchestra version of 'May be'.
I heard that his concert will be live streamed this weekend?
Yes, his show will be live-streamed this Sunday at 1PM in 35 CGV theaters, as well as on Olleh TV and mobile TV application 'SEEZN'. Here is what viewers can enjoy that day.
"You will be able to hear my early works and recent works, the new ones,… Sunset Bird and Room with a view, Nocturnal mind,… and I will arrange that into an ensembles,… so there will be a small group of string players which will be accompanying me, which will be quite nice to hear the new sounds of my pieces."
I am very much looking forward to it. And I hear that Yiruma has also prepared a special show for us?
That's right. Without further ado, let's hear his encouraging message and music.
"I am sure many of you are having hard time right now because of the pandemic situation, but hopefully I hope it would end very soon. Maybe I could meet you at the venue next year in the proper concert, I wish you best of luck, merry Christmas everyone just take care of yourself and others."
What other cultural events can we take in this weekend?
Fans of classical music will be pleased to hear that there's something of a Beethoven extravaganza this weekend.
'The Seoul International Music Festival' will present Beethoven's music every day at 7:30 PM from this Friday to Sunday on Naver TV channel 'OPUS TV'.
Adding to that,... a revised version of Beethoven’s Ninth 'Choral' will be played by the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra on Sunday,... live-streamed on SPO's Naver TV and YouTube channels...
