Having identification under capitalism has always been about tracking and access... but it's also more than clear that it's about further criminalizing lack of said access. <br /> <br />October 2021 (not 2020, since that already passed) is when all states must be 'in compliance' with the real ID act. If you choose not to get a real ID card, in order to travel and go into federal buildings, you must use a passport (or passport card).
