U.S. adds second COVID-19 vaccine to its arsenal, with approval of shots developed by Moderna

미 CDC, 모더나 백신도 승인... 미국서 접종 가능해져<br /><br />Over in the U.S., the distribution of Moderna's COVID-19 vaccines has kicked off ,... and Americans are expected to get inoculated as early as Monday, local time.<br />Kim Hyo-sun has this story.<br />The U.S. CDC has accepted its committee's recommendation to vaccinate Americans with Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine.<br />Its Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices earlier recommended that the vaccines can be given to people over the age of 18.<br />Such a process is necessary for the country to inoculate its people following the emergency use approval by the FDA.<br />The U.S. was the first country to greenlight the use of Moderna’s vaccine, which does not need to be stored at ultra cold temperatures like the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.<br />This means the U.S. has now approved two COVID-19 vaccines,... and it's expected to speed up vaccinations for its people,... which is desperately needed to bring the pandemic under control.<br />Distribution to over 37-hundred locations began on Sunday.<br />A healthcare supply chain management company, McKesson, says its initial deliveries should arrive by Monday,... adding that inoculations may begin that morning.<br />The U.S. government plans to deliver 5-point-9 million Moderna shots and 2 million Pfizer shots this week.<br />Kim Hyo-sun, Arirang News.<br /><br />
