AG Barr Says No Need <br />For Special Counsel, on Voter Fraud.<br />Barr made the comments during <br />a Monday news conference.<br />They were a response to questions about <br />President Donald Trump's recent proposal <br />to appoint a special counsel to investigate <br />his false claims of voter fraud.<br />If I thought a special counsel at this stage was the right tool and was appropriate, I would name one, but I haven't and I'm not going to, William Barr, U.S. Attorney General, via NPR News.<br />Trump has also suggested appointing a special counsel <br />to investigate President-elect Joe Biden's son, Hunter.<br />Hunter is under a federal investigation <br />involving tax issues.<br />I think (the Hunter Biden investigation is) being handled responsibly and professionally currently within the department, .., William Barr, U.S. Attorney General, via NPR News.<br />... and to this point I have seen no reason to appoint a special counsel, and I have no plan to do so before I leave, William Barr, U.S. Attorney General, via NPR News.<br />Barr will step down from his position <br />as U.S. Attorney General on Wednesday.<br />He recently fell out of favor with <br />the president after stating a <br />Justice Department investigation <br />discovered no evidence of voter fraud.
