미, 영국발 항공기 승객 전원에 코로나 음성판정 의무화<br />The U.S. will require people flying in from the UK to test negative for Covid-19.<br />This is due to concerns about a new, possibly more transmissible COVID-19 variant.<br />According to the CDC, testing must be completed no more than 72 hours before departure.<br />President Donald Trump will sign the order on Christmas Day, and the measure will go into effect starting Monday.<br />Quite a turnaround as the administration initially announced, there were no plans for such a procedure.<br />The decision comes after the emergence of a new coronavirus variant in Britain that prompted many nations to take necessary measures.<br />The new strain appears to spread more quickly.<br />The British Embassy in Washington did not immediately respond to a request for comment. <br />
