Dodgers Legend, Tommy Lasorda, Dead at 93.<br />Tommy Lasorda died on<br />Thursday night at age 93<br />after suffering a heart attack<br />at his home in California. .<br />Lasorda made his MLB debut with<br />the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1954. .<br />He later coached for the now-Los Angeles<br />Dodgers from 1973 to 1976, before becoming<br />manager of the team. .<br />Lasorda led the Dodgers to four National League<br />pennants and two World Series titles. .<br />He retired in July 1996 and was inducted<br />into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1997.<br />That same year,<br />the club retired<br />his uniform, No. 2.<br />Dodgers president and CEO Stan Kasten <br />released a statement praising Lasorda's <br />“Dodger spirit” after news of his death.<br />In a franchise that has celebrated<br />such great legends of the game,<br />no one who wore the uniform<br />embodied the Dodger spirit as<br />much as Tommy Lasorda, Stan Kasten, via 'The Hollywood Reporter'
