It’s been one year since the Taal volcano erupted in the Philippines, leaving many families homeless and villages blanketed in ash. <br /> <br />More than 5,000 people fled the small island as the ground shook and grey ash poured into the sky on 12 January 2020. <br /> <br />The area is now considered too dangerous and former residents have been banned from returning by the government. <br /> <br />Small earthquakes can still be felt and weak plumes of steam are visible from the crater.
