House Dems' Impeachment Resolution , Charges Trump With <br />'Incitement of Insurrection'.<br />Ted Lieu of California, David Cicilline of <br />Rhode Island and Jamie Raskin of Maryland <br />introduced the resolution on Monday.<br />Democratic lawmakers cited <br />President Donald Trump's speech to his supporters prior <br />to the storming of the U.S. Capitol.<br />as well as Trump's call with the Georgia Republican <br />secretary of state, in which he pressed him to "find" enough <br />votes to overturn the presidential election in that state.<br />In all this, President Trump gravely endangered the security of the United States and its institutions of Government, Impeachment Resolution, via CNN.<br />He threatened the integrity of the democratic system, interfered with the peaceful transition of power, and imperiled a coequal branch of Government, Impeachment Resolution, via CNN.<br />He thereby betrayed his trust as President, to the manifest injury of the people of the United States, Impeachment Resolution, via CNN.<br />Democrats also cited the <br />14th Amendment in the resolution.<br />which "prohibits any person who has 'engaged <br />in insurrection or rebellion against' the United States" <br />from holding office again
