Democrats Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will be sworn in as the next president and vice president of the United States. <br /> <br />Outgoing president Donald Trump said he will not be in attendance, a first for an outgoing-president in more than 150 years. <br /> <br />Because of the pandemic, Biden supporters have been asked to stay at home rather than attend the ceremony. The scaled-down event will have around 1,000 guests in attendance, including members of Congress. Entertainment will include performances from pop stars Jennifer Lopez and Lady Gaga.<br /> <br />Extra security, including the vetting of the security officers working at the ceremony, has been put in place following the riot at the U.S. Capitol earlier this month.
