WASHINGTON — The presidential fleet is getting an upgrade with two modern Boeing 747s to serve as Air Force One.<br /><br />Though former U.S. president Donald Trump changed the plane's color scheme and claims he shaved US$1.5 billion off the program's cost, the first president to fly in the planes will be Joe Biden.<br /><br />According to the War Zone, the new jets are larger Boeing 747-8is that will feature more efficient next generation engines and have a range of 5,900 nautical miles.<br /><br />The planes will lack some features of their predecessors, including inflight refueling, the result of cost-cutting efforts by the Air Force and Trump administration.
