Google to Provide Some of Its Facilities as Vaccination Clinics .<br />On Jan. 25, the tech giant announced it <br />is launching a $150 million initiative ...<br />... to promote vaccine education and provide <br />fair access to those who wish to be vaccinated. .<br />Google plans to offer some of its facilities in <br />Los Angeles, San Francisco, Kirkland, Washington <br />and New York City as vaccination clinics.<br />The company intends to expand beyond those locations once more vaccines are available across the country. .<br />According to Google CEO Sundar Pichai, $100 million in ad grants will go to the CDC, WHO and other nonprofits.<br />$50 million will go toward providing vaccine education to "underserved communities.".<br />According to Google, "searches for 'vaccines near me' have increased 5x since the beginning of the year.".<br />The vaccine info panels in <br />its search results will now be <br />expanded, showing state and <br />regional distribution info.<br />Getting vaccines to billions of people won’t be easy, but it’s one of the most important problems we’ll solve in our lifetimes, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, via blog post
