Mary Wilson, Co-Founder of <br />the Supremes, Dead at 76.<br />According to the singer's friend and publicist, Jay Schwartz, Wilson "passed away suddenly" at her home in Henderson, Nevada.<br />As a bestselling author, businesswoman, <br />motivational speaker and U.S. Cultural Ambassador, <br />Schwartz said her legacy extended beyond singing.<br />Wilson used her fame and flair to promote a diversity of humanitarian efforts including ending hunger, raising HIV/AIDS awareness and encouraging world peace, Jay Schwartz, via statement.<br />Wilson also helped to pass the <br />Music Modernization Act in 2018.<br />The Act helped to update <br />copyright policies for music <br />recorded before Feb. 15, 1972, <br />in the digital age of streaming.<br />Due to COVID-19, funeral services will be private, but an event celebrating Wilson's life will take place later this year.<br />She is survived by her son, daughter, grandchildren, sister and brother
