“India has almost achieved self-reliance in pulses. India’s pulses productivity is 23.62% of world's total productivity,” said Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar at a summit on 'World Pulses Day.' Tomar claimed that India is the largest producer and consumer of pulses. <br /><br />Agriculture Minister further said, “Government of India is going to make 10,000 new FPOs across the nation and around 940 million dollars will be spent on these FPOs in 5 years. Through these, it will be possible to make farmers capable of getting access to seed generation, purchase and better technology.”
