Children from a group of nurseries have adopted 248 animals at Chester Zoo in Cheshire, England. <br /> <br />Children, families and staff took part in a campaign to raise money for the zoo, after hearing of the venue’s financial struggles during the pandemic. <br /> <br />The campaign raised £20,000, enough to pay for the care and upkeep of almost 250 animals. <br /> <br />Chester Zoo has reported losses of nearly £10m since the start of the pandemic, after the venue was forced to close its doors three times due to coronavirus restrictions. <br /> <br />The zoo is marking its 90th birthday this year.
