Nickelodeon to Expand, ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’, Franchise With Dedicated Avatar Studios.<br />Nickelodeon is planning on expanding the <br />universe of ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ <br />and ‘The Legend of Korra.’ .<br />The network will be launching<br />Avatar Studios, a subset completely<br />devoted to creating new movies and<br />animated series for the ‘Avatar’ franchise. .<br />The studio will be run by Michael DiMartino<br />and Bryan Konietzko, creators of the original<br />‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ series. .<br />It’s hard to believe it’s been 19 years<br />since we created 'Avatar: The Last<br />Airbender.'
