Illinois Legislator Proposes Bill to<br />Prohibit ‘All Violent Video Games’.<br />The bill was introduced by Illinois Rep. Marcus Evans last week.<br />Bill HB3531 would amend the Violent Video<br />Games Law and change provisions surrounding<br />the sale of “violent video games” to minors. .<br />It would effectively prohibit the sale<br />of “all violent video games” on the basis that<br />they “perpetuate human-on-human violence.” .<br />The bill would also change the definition of “serious physical<br />harm” to include psychological harm, various forms of abuse,<br />domestic violence, violence against women and carjacking. .<br />A video game that allows a user or player to<br />control a character within the video game that<br />is encouraged to perpetuate human-on-human<br />violence in which the player kills or otherwise<br />causes serious physical or psychological harm<br />to another human or an animal, Bill HB3531, via Complex.<br />In a statement to the ‘Chicago Sun-Times,'<br />Rep. Evans seemingly blamed video games for the<br />increased carjacking rate in Chicago. .<br />A total of 218 carjacking incidents were<br />reported to Chicago police in January.<br />The bill would prohibit the sale of some<br />of these games that promote the activities that<br />we’re suffering from in our communities, Rep.
