Target, Kroger and Walgreens <br />to Continue Requiring Masks <br />Despite Lifted Mandates.<br />This week, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and<br />Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves announced that<br />they were ending all state-imposed mask mandates.<br />In response, national chain retailers including Target, Kroger<br />and Walgreens confirmed that they would be keeping<br />their mask requirements, per the CDC’s guidelines. .<br />Target stressed that its no-contact shopping<br />options were available for those who would prefer<br />not to wear a mask in its stores. .<br />A spokesperson for Kroger said that its mask policy<br />would remain in place until all of its “frontline grocery<br />associates” had received a vaccine.<br />[We] will continue to require everyone<br />in our stores across the country to<br />wear masks until all our frontline<br />grocery associates can receive<br />the COVID-19 vaccine, Kroger spokesperson, via 'The Hill'.<br />Walgreens said there was “no change at this time”<br />to its current policy and safety protocols and that it<br />was following “current CDC and OSHA guidelines.”.<br />Other retailers, such as Costco, Starbucks, Toyota, Macy's, Best Buy and more are following suit.<br />CVS Health said that its employees have<br />been directed to suggest face coverings when necessary,<br />but to ultimately “avoid escalated confrontations.”.<br />If a customer is not wearing<br />a mask or face covering, we will<br />refer them to our signage and<br />ask that they help protect themselves<br />and those around them, CVS Health, via 'The Hill'
