Demonstrators gathered outside New Scotland Yard after police broke up a peaceful vigil for Sarah Everard the previous day.<br />London's Metropolitan Police have come under fire for arresting, handcuffing and dragging people away, while they were paying their respects.<br />Everard went missing on March 3 walking through Clapham to her home in Brixton Hill.<br />Her body was later found by police in woodland near Ashford in Kent.<br />A police officer has been charged with the kidnapping and murder of the 33-year-old.<br />Everard’s killing has reignited the conversation about women’s safety in the UK and across the globe.<br />Many shared their experiences of assault and harassment, as well as the lengths women go to stay safe, such as changing routes, having keys ready, or faking phone calls.<br />Home Secretary Priti Patel has demanded a report on the police’s response to the vigil.<br />Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he was ‘deeply disturbed’ by the scenes in Clapham.
