Seventeen criminal gangs are operating in the Remand Section of the prison system in this country.<br /><br />This was revealed by the Prisons Commissioner during a virtual hearing of the Joint Select Committee on National Security on Monday.<br /><br />And the reasons why prisoners in Remand are joining gangs?<br /><br />The Prisons Commissioner said one reason may be as simple as the kind of snacks many may take for granted outside prison walls.<br /><br />Juhel Browne<br />
