Russian free-diver Alexey Molchanov reached 80 metres in the lake Baikal setting a new Guinness World Record on Wednesday.<br /><br />It took the 34-year-old 2 minutes and 53 seconds to dive down the world's deepest lake.<br /><br />Igor Kobzev, governor of the Siberian region of Irkutsk where part of Lake Baikal is located, said on Instagram that the water was a chilly 3°C.<br /><br />Molchanov, a 14-time world champion freediver, claims to now hold 20 world records.
