California's COVID-19 Plan , Addresses Screaming at Theme Parks.<br />In California, theme parks are set<br />to reopen as early as April. .<br />To aid in curbing the spread of COVID-19,<br />the California Attractions and Parks Association<br />(CAPA) is calling on parks to limit activities that<br />involve shouting and singing. .<br />Erin Guerrero, executive director of CAPA,<br />has denied reports that this means parks must<br />“prohibit screaming” on roller coasters. .<br />CAPA has never suggested<br />or recommended limiting<br />shouting, yelling, or screaming<br />on an amusement park ride, Erin Guerrero, via ‘USA Today’.<br />Instead, theme parks are advised to<br />take extra steps to “mitigate the effects of<br />shouting” on roller coasters. .<br />Face covering usage and/or<br />modifications to seat loading<br />patterns will be required on<br />amusement park rides to mitigate<br />the effects of shouting. , Erin Guerrero, via ‘USA Today’.<br />In addition, CAPA noted that guests<br />“generally face in one direction” on rides,<br />which already aids in mitigation efforts.
