Tinder is taking steps to increase transparency and safety between users.<br />The dating service announced it will soon provide the ability to perform simple background checks.<br />This will allow users to feel safer when meeting up with prospective matches.<br />"The service will be provided by Garbo, which recently partnered with Tinder’s parent company." Match Group.<br />Garbo is a service that can fetch public records using a person’s first name and telephone number.<br />This includes information such as arrests, police reports, restraining orders and other legal documents.<br />It does not include drug offenses or traffic violations.<br />Garbo is expected to be added to Tinder within the next few months.<br />Match.com and OKCupid.com, which are also services under Match Group, will likely follow.
