The Health Ministry has revealed that a new double mutant variant of Covid-19 has been detected in India. The variant has shown increased infectivity which has raised major concerns over the spread of infection. <br /> <br />As per a statement issued by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoH FW) , the double mutant virus has been detected in 15-20 per cent samples collected from Maharashtra. <br /> <br />The Health Ministry is monitoring the spread of this new variant of Covid-19 infection.
