There were attempts to bribe Umno leaders to secure their support, said party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who added that he rejected all such offers.<br /><br />This Umno assembly has brought into focus the party's position as it attempts to break with Bersatu.<br /><br />Earlier this month, Zahid had already voiced out his claim that efforts have been made to take control of Umno after attempts to destroy the largest Malay-based party failed.
