Tottenham players left their training centre north of London on Monday after saying their final farewell to Jose Mourinho, who was sacked as coach after just 12 months in charge.<br /><br />He began his tenure at White Hart Lane in November 2019 as a replacement for Mauricio Pochettino, who himself was sacked after guiding Tottenham to one of their most successful seasons.<br /><br />Spurs are currently seventh in the Premier League table, were knocked out of the Europa League in March and have collected only two points from their past three league games.<br /><br />They do however face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final on April 25th.<br /><br />Mourinho's sacking comes a day after it was announced Tottenham are one of the 12 clubs that will join the new European Super League.<br /><br />The competition is unsanctioned by UEFA and FIFA, with both bodies threatening any players who participate, will not be able to play in their competitions, including the World Cup.
