Facebook Enters Audio Space With Soundbites, Live Rooms and Podcasts.<br />On April 19, the social media giant announced new tools for creating and sharing audio.<br />The move follows the recent rise of audio-based content via podcasts and platforms such as Clubhouse and Twitter Spaces.<br />Mark Zuckerberg says Facebook wants to "treat audio as a first-class medium in the way that we treat photos and videos." .<br />One of its offerings is called Live Audio Rooms. .<br />It will be tested in Facebook Groups and later incorporated into Messenger, becoming available to everyone later this year.<br />Podcasts and another product <br />called "Soundbites" will also <br />be coming to the platform.<br />"Soundbites" will first be available to a select number of creators, allowing them to make short-form audio clips with captions.<br />Facebook intends for creators to be <br />able to monetize these new audio tools. .<br />A big part of the creator economy is that it's empowering individuals.
