Photographer Brian Skerry teamed up with James Cameron on the new series, “Secrets of the Whales,” premiering Earth Day April 22 on Disney+. <br /><br><br /><br><br />Raised in Massachusetts, Skerry always wanted to be an ocean explorer and started doing underwater photography more than two decades ago.<br /><br><br /><br><br />“I fell in love with the sea as a child,” he said on “Salon Talks.” “I saw this place as a realm that I wanted to explore, what was lying beneath those dark waves out there on the ocean.”<br /><br><br /><br><br />Watch the full episode above to hear about what new discoveries Skerry has made from studying whales and what he thinks humans can learn from them.
